Challenge
To secure the large volumes of data they generated, Friendly GmbH used FTP storage. However, this solution quickly reached its limits, especially with "static" storage plans. Therefore, it soon became clear that a dynamic storage solution should be evaluated, one that better met the company's needs and offered the necessary flexibility.
We have been using Netstream since 2020 for scalable Backupof our customer data in Switzerland.

After researching various solutions and providers on the market online, Friendly GmbH came across Netstream. Their preferred provider absolutely had to be based in Switzerland and host customer data there. Netstreamfulfilled both requirements. Netstream 's many years of experience and, in particular, its company culture ultimately convinced Friendly GmbH, and they requested more information about the solutions. After a trial, the company ultimately opted for Netstream's S3-compatible Object ag.
Solution
Friendly GmbH uses Netstream Object agto back up large volumes of data to the Cloud. For data transfer, the company uses the open-source software s3cmd. This software utilizes the Amazon S3 standard for data transfer. Thanks to its S3 compatibility, the solution offers high flexibility and is easily scalable.
