Today we are launching the VMware Tanzu Kubernetes platform under the name "Kubernetes as a Service powered by VMware Tanzu." This fully managed Kubernetes service simplifies the deployment and management of containerized applications. With this launch, we are one of the first three companies in Europe to offer VMware Tanzu.

VMware Tanzu provides the foundation for modernizing infrastructures and applications using containerag. This solution gives developers a modern application infrastructure, enabling them to build better software and bring innovative applications to market faster. Administrators benefit from full control over security and policies, and from the ease of deploying new clusters—as simple as deploying new virtual machines. Centralized management allows application developers and operations teams to collaborate toward shorter release cycles.

We have been using the container platform for years to modernize and develop our own TV platform and apps. Now, by offering Kubernetes as a Service , we want to enable other companies to benefit from its advantages – fully managed.

“Thanks to the complete management by VMware Tanzu and the native integration into our Cloud, we enable companies and developers to enjoy the benefits of the Kubernetes service and thus profit from the combined strength of the VMware Group and Netstream AG ,” says Reto Kasser, CTO of Netstream AG. “From our own experience, we know how difficult it is to achieve convergence between virtual machines and orchestrated containers. Unlike existing self-managed Kubernetes environments, we offer, together with VMware, a fully managed, enterprise-level solution that enables this convergence. This allows us to support a wide variety of business types on their journey of digital transformation.”

“We very much welcome the launch of a Kubernetes as a Service offering by Netstream AG , based on VMware Tanzu. This gives our joint customer base the opportunity to run virtual machines and Kubernetes side by side, simplify the operation of Kubernetes, enable developer self-service, and access the best of open source from a Swiss data center as a fully managed, enterprise-level service,”agThomas Krieg, Senior Director Alps at VMware.
