With VMware's "Zero Carbon Committed," we are committing to operating our public Cloudexclusively in data centers powered by 100% renewable energy by 2030. In addition, we are setting an example for low-carbon and sustainable solutions.
Since 2018, we have powered our data centers and offices with 100% solar energy. For cooling, we also rely on ambient cold rather than mechanical cooling systems. This method saves as much electricity annually as approximately 200 typical Swiss households consume. In addition to these ongoing measures, we continually support new environmental projects. For example, in 2019 we planted 200 treesto contribute to reforestation and sponsored several bee colonies.
