Finding a job with two small children isn't easy. After my second maternity leave, I returned to my old employer. My gutagme on the firstagthat something wasn't right. I suddenly didn't have a fixed workstation anymore, all my projects were gone, and the atmosphere left much to be desired. I soon started looking for a new challenge. I saw a job posting online from Netstream for an Executive Assistant position with a 60-80% workload. After looking at the website, I was very impressed and applied immediately.
Leandra, our HR manager, contacted me shortly after and scheduled the first interview. I was overjoyed. At the first interview, I met Alexis, our CEO, and Leandra, our HR manager. Right from the start of the conversation, I realized that I really liked both the company and the job.
As a working mother of two, it's very important to me that the company and my supervisors understand that I need to be there for my children and therefore might require more flexibility than others. So, in our very first interview, I immediately mentioned that I have a four-year-old and a son who was eight months old at the time. I told them that I would like to work a maximum of 60-70%, but only threeagweek in the office and half aag from home. What I really appreciated was that I could ultimately decide for myself whether I wanted to work four hours at a time or work intermittently throughout theag . This flexibility was very important to me.
The second interview followed the very nextag . Managing directors Reto and Dominik, as well as HR manager Leandra, participated. After the interview, I had a really good feeling. I was very impressed by the relaxed atmosphere and the positive environment. I had found a potential employer who would allow me to balance work, household chores, and childcare. I would have the flexibility I needed for myself and my family. After the second interview, I received the jobagon the sameag . I shouted with joy! 🙂
When I started my new job in February 2018, less than two weeks later my children were sick. I just thought, "No, this can't be happening. Not now, during my probationary period." I didn't want them to think, "She's only just started and her kids are already sick." But I was lucky that my husband had time to look after the children, so I didn't have to leave work. Now I know that it wouldn't have been a problem for Netstream either if I had stayed home. From the very beginning, I was able to work from home for half aag each week, which I really appreciate. Alexis onceagme, "You can work from anywhere; set it up in a way that works best for you." That, of course, gives me a very good feeling. A feeling of trust, which is very important to me. If circumstances require it, I am happy to spend an extraag in the office because I want to give back to Netstream what I receive from them as my employer.
If I'm needed, I'm there. If I need Netstream, it's there for me too.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this. Without this flexibility, I wouldn't be able to do my job and would probably constantly feel guilty when my family needs me on my workingag. THANK YOU!
