"We're going to Saas-Fee!!!! Right??" Two blue eyes beamed triumphantly at me. "Of course, now you've finally guessed!" I replied with my usual wink, which hopefully made the recipient doubt my answer. Such interrogations while waiting in front of the coffee machine became increasingly frequent for the anniversary organizing team—Daniela T., Leandra, Monika, and me—as our event,agNetstream's 20th anniversary, drew nearer. So, on theag of departure, the anticipation was palpable as we boarded the two buses.
Arriving at the beautiful 4* Hotel Eiger Selfness in Grindelwald, we found ourselves in the rustic, hotel-owned restaurant Barry's and enjoyed our individually prepared Mongolian punch.
After a short walk, we reached Eiger+, THE bar in charming Grindelwald. Today, the door bore a large sign reading "Private Party!" But far from closed, the atmosphere inside was quite open and welcoming. The band MAXIN was playing at full throttle, and even colleagues who never danced were unable to resist. Staff members twirled skillfully in the ballroom dance, and one colleague impressed everyone with his acrobatic skills! Time flew by, and thankfully, everyone thought, this was just the beginning…
Saturdayagwas free for everyone to enjoy asag , which was used for sleeping in, having a leisurely breakfast, and doing some morning exercise. Afteragtogether, eight members of a film event crew appeared to inform the surprised Netstreamteam about the afternoonagprogram. In short: three teams would create three films, and an Oscar ceremony would take place in the evening. The teams were drawn by lot and met separately to vote on their films and divide up the various tasks. Thus, the intern became Little Red Riding Hood, the quiet developer a bubbly, green-faced witch, and incompetent cowboys, heavily armed bad boys, and a flute-playing blonde were everywhere. Filming took place outdoors, in hotel rooms, and even in a church, all under intense pressure. Against the idyllic mountain backdrop, there were nasty, staged fights, Titanic reenactments, and even murder. Sequences were filmed again and again until, by evening, everything was in the can! For the film crew, the hard work now began: editing the films.
We, on the other hand, gathered, dressed in our finest clothes, for dinner. At Barry's, we were once again treated to fantastic wine, top-notch service, and a delicious celebratoryag. A hush fell over #TeamNetstream, with only the occasional "Mmmmmmhhhh!" We were jolted from our reverie by a "Happy Birthday to you!" Besides Netstream, a long-time employee was also celebrating hisag! All the more reason to celebrate in style. At Eiger+, the red carpet had already been rolled out for us, and the Netstreamactors strolled across it into the bar, taking their seats on neatly arranged barstools in front of a large screen.
Oscar night could begin. Within the first few minutes, the crowd roared and clapped. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, congratulating each other on the magnificent acting performances, the stunning costumes, or the amazing makeup transformations. Afterwards, using a decibel meter, we chose the Oscar winners in the categories of Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Picture.
Then things got emotional: The congratulatory video for the three founders, secretly recorded by all the employees, premiered. Alexis, Dom, and Reto were visibly moved and surprised. They hadn't suspected a thing, Alexis emphasized in his thank-you speech to everyone present! Everyone toasted the three of them to another 20 years, proud to haveagto Netstream 's success! A perfect start to end this wonderfulag with some dancing.
Sitting on the bus the next morning, I felt that very special atmosphere that only arises when a really cool group spends an unforgettable time together. The weekend was a complete success.
